Reduce time to market

Eliminate waste and inefficiency

DevAnalytics supplies the data you need to take the guesswork out of SAP development and delivery. A comprehensive set of meaningful performance metrics provides evidence that can be used to support data-driven business decisions, helping to make your SAP systems more effective and efficient.

Insight and performance metrics are available across five key categories of development metrics: velocity, cycle times, rework & waste, work in progress and approval times.

This detailed view of what’s happening within the change delivery process enables you to understand where action needs to be taken in order to eliminate waste, inefficiency and bottlenecks, so that you can reduce cycle times and speed up your time to market – changes that will save you money, help deliver more to your customers and which may also free up scarce resources for investment in other value-adding projects.

Compare suppliers, teams and projects

Which supplier is delivering most value? Which of your SAP projects were most efficient and cost-effective? DevAnalytics acts as a benchmarking tool for SAP development, to help you answer these questions and more.

Detailed, granular output provides the means to build performance metrics into supplier contracts and assess on-going performance, whilst internal best practice and high-performing teams can be identified. You can even compare your performance to wider industry averages using Basis Technologies’ dataset.

Thirty-five pre-defined metrics are provided (when used in combination with Transport Expresso), allowing you to begin building reports immediately. Data can be presented across any date range, and the results refined using a variety of categories including SAP module (e.g. ECC, BW), SAP system (Dev, QA, etc), functional area (e.g. finance) and supplier. Categories can be combined to provide specific insights, so that you can create the individual reports that are of most use to your business.

Enabling Agile and DevOps

Business agility is a fundamental requirement in the digital economy. As firms look to be more responsive to customer demands, modern development methodologies such as Agile and DevOps are becoming increasingly necessary to deliver a faster pace of IT change.

DevAnalytics supports the adoption of Agile and DevOps for SAP by providing a suite of metrics that can be used to assess performance on an on-going basis. This level of objective assessment is essential when focussing on rapid, incremental delivery of specific goals; it allows objective milestones can be set and used to track continuous improvement.

As quality and delivery speed improve – tracked through metrics such as cycle time and rework rate – cost is lowered, risk is reduced and customers are ultimately more satisfied.

Remove the ‘visibility gap’

SAP change is increasingly being driven by the broader business. Requirements could range from a simple adjustment to an existing report, to major functional changes necessary to support a new business initiative.

DevAnalytics provides a means to close the ‘visibility gap’ that can exist between the program management office (PMO) and IT/Operations teams, helping to avoid confusion and ensuring that senior management receive the most accurate picture possible. Near real-time data is available and can be refreshed on a daily basis to give the latest view. Reports can be generated in a standard SAP GUI, or data can be exported for creation of dashboards in other common data visualisation tools such as QlikView and Tableau.

What’s more, historical data can be used to improve planning of future projects. Required resource and duration can be more accurately predicted based on past performance; the same data can highlight which earlier projects have gone well, helping to identify approaches that can mitigate risk and promote best practice in future.

Ready for S/4HANA

The future won’t hold you back

DevAnalytics is simple to install and configure, connecting directly to an existing instance of Solution Manager running on your SAP system. No other software is required.

This means that whilst DevAnalytics is fully compatible with new SAP platforms such as S/4HANA, it’s equally at home providing insight into an on-premise system running on HANA, or older SAP releases.

Whether you’re undertaking a platform transition and wish to monitor performance levels during what can be a disruptive and resource-intensive process, or you’ve made the move already and would like to compare SAP development metrics before and after the shift, DevAnalytics can provide the insight that you need.
